I know we are a few days into April already, but of course I waited until the very last minute to make my March garments for Project de., so I apologize for the delay. My March designs (yes, I made two this month) came out of necessity – figuring out what to wear to a wedding last weekend. When I say last minute, I am not exaggerating, I was still sewing the day of the wedding.
I am always jealous of men when getting dressed to attend a wedding, no matter what the occasion, a suit will always do. So I took this idea and translated it to womenswear, designing separates for the event in lieu of a dress. Inspired by clean, deliberate lines, the idea of tie back aprons and the contrast between shadow and light led me to the most classic of color schemes, black and ivory…. I know, shocker! If you follow me on instagram, then you already got a sneak peek of how I wore my designs to the wedding. Tomorrow I will show you how versatile these separates are, so stay tuned!
