I’ll never forget the day I met up with my friend Dangi, at Sephora, for a little mascara shopping. I wandered around and opened the bottles of mascara to examine the wands, while Dangi insisted I smell each one. Confused, but intrigued, I took a whiff of the mascara wand and found a surprisingly toxic smell. Dangi had been looking for an organic mascara, without the chemical smell, for years.  I jumped on the bandwagon and started to search for organic mascara without toxic smells and without harmful ingredients. I learned along the way that the toxic chemicals found in most mascaras cause your eyelashes to fall out, if you (gasp!) sleep with your mascara on! If that fun fact isn’t enough to make you switch over, then I don’t know what will. After years of trying to find an organic mascara that doesn’t flake or smudge, Ilia has proven to be the best so far. The bristles on the wand are very delicate and they separate your lashes to give you a natural look. It makes for a perfect every day mascara, I wear the black mascara, Nightfall.
