07 Nov Non-Toxic Beauty Gift Guide 2014
To kick off the seven weeks of gifting here on DeSmitten, we’ve put together the ultimate non-toxic beauty gift guide. Originally this guide was put together for your organic-beauty obsessed besties, but it doesn’t hurt to stock up on a few non-toxic beauty supplies for yourself to keep you looking fresh through the holidays. It’s also a great time to get a jump on New Year’s resolutions… change your beauty routine to a “clean” one in 2015.
Surratt Relevée Eyelash curler $25 // Fresh face, no-makeup looks were all over the Spring 2015 runways, so what better gift to give than the look of natural, long lashes without any products! The ergonomic design of this eyelash curler puts less pressure on the lashes while making them look longer. If you rather go for mascara, this is a great organic option.
Zoeva Classic set of makeup brushes $75 // Whether you add this set to your growing arsenal of makeup brushes or if you feel like starting fresh, this set of six makeup brushes will do everything from concealing to adding a silky finish to your face. It also makes a great gift for friends who aren’t so savvy with makeup brushes because it leaves them with no excuse to try them out!
Beauty Counter Color Shade Eye Duo $30 // If you haven’t heard, Beauty Counter (refresher: the skin care brand that banned over 1,500 ingredients, setting a new health and safety standard) recently launched a line of cosmetics! The Fawn/Night color eye duo makes the perfect combination to take your lids from day to night. Be sure to explore all the cosmetic gift giving possibilities on their website.
Dr. Jart Hydrating Mask $9 // This one-time use mask is like a hydrating facial without the spa prices. It restores hydration and elasticity to the skin. I wouldn’t recommend this as a gift on its own, but giving this mask, along with a bottle of booze wouldn’t be a bad idea! It would also make a perfect stocking stuffer.
Zoya nail polish $9 // In an effort to match this (505 Particulier) Chanel nail color, in a less toxic formula, I found this Zoya color, ironically named Chanelle. A perfect dark neutral, that isn’t black.
Herbivore Botanicals, Pink Clay mask $18 // Without artificial fragrances or colors, this clay mask removes the top layer of skin without over drying. A mild exfoliant removes flakey dry skin, leaving your face glowing and ready to face the day. Recommended by my friend Elizabeth from The Note Passer.
