23 Nov Holiday Host Gift Guide 2014
I don’t know about you, but my schedule is filling up quickly with holiday parties and other celebrations. It’s always fun to attend holiday parties, but picking out the perfect gift for the host can be stressful. That’s why I put together this Holiday Host Gift Guide filled with a little token of appreciation for those who throw the parties of the season. I kept in mind that host gifts can add up quickly, so I kept everything on this Host Gift Guide under $50.
Edibles are always a nice treat, but not just any chocolate will do. The most important part of picking out a chocolate that makes it gift worthy is finding an interesting flavor combination with stylish packaging. My favorites to give this season are from Casa Bosques Chocolates. With flavors consisting of dark chocolate with ginger and chocolate with rosemary.
It’s no secret that one of my favorite Canvas Home collections is Dauville, made of smooth white ceramic and a metallic accent, makes a perfect holiday gift. This set of coasters, available in silver and gold, can act as more than just a pretty place to put your drink. I use mine as small jewelry trays, or place to burn sage or incense.
A great thank you gift for a host is thinking of what they will go through the day after the party. Cleaning up and putting their house back together is always hard with a hangover. I love to give specialty teas that will help your host recover the next day. For the holidays, Barney’s is selling specialty teas and treats from their famed restaurant Fred’s. A sleek black tin full of Paris Tea makes a thoughtful gift.
One gift I love to receive is a scented candle. Scented candles are a nice little luxury and you can never have too many. One of my favorites at the moment is from Byredo, in a light cotton poplin scent with a modern black glass vessel.
If you were asked to bring a little something to a holiday party, use this as an opportunity to incorporate your host gift. This simple round marble plate is the perfect backdrop to house a variety of cheeses for every party.
