The only way to enjoy living in New York City for years on end is by having somewhere to escape to. My husband’s family lives upstate, so we have always used their homes as getaway destinations. Last weekend, we rented a modern cabin in the woods near Hudson, NY. It was only then that we realized the value of having our own place in the woods.
