This week, Vogue wrote an article about the new Toxic Beauty documentary that sheds light on how detrimental the toxic ingredients in our cosmetics are. They compare the beauty industry to the tobacco industry, with good reason. While the article is impactful and I’m glad Vogue is finally highlighting this issue, but, the question is, why did it take Vogue so long to talk about it? We all know why, because most of their advertising dollars are coming from beauty companies that don’t even offer one clean product in their line. When you search Vogue’s website for clean beauty, a mere 14 articles come up, most of which don’t even talk about clean beauty at all.
If you are looking for something to watch this weekend, and you want to learn more about what you are putting on your face everyday, watch Toxic Beauty. And if you need guidance on how to make the switch to clean beauty, be sure to read through my Clean Beauty articles, starting here. I started switching over my beauty products to clean products over 6 years ago. It took me about a year and a half to switch over completely, but I would never go back. Feel free to ask more questions here. I plan on posting my most updated beauty routine in the coming weeks.
