When no-one is getting dressed in any real way these days, it’s hard to jump into the new season’s fashion shows. This season, instead of scrolling, style by style, through every runway show, I went to my favorites for a little fashion week escape. I watched the vide of the Jil Sander Spring 2021 presentation and it felt intimate and hopeful. The models walked out of the darkness and into the light, perhaps a metaphor for the pandemic? The collection focused more on day-wear, which seems appropriate for these times. By emphasizing intimate fabrications, think organza and satin, they made them feel fresh by reimagining them in pajama-esque matching sets appropriate to wear beyond the house.
