I am in the midst of packing for our seven-day trip to Michigan to visit my family, and I thought you might want to see my packing essentials for a snowy getaway. Michigan is much colder and snowier than New York right now, so comfort is key. Hence the flat black boots and layers of cozy knits. We plan to spend most of our time in the city, catching up with friends, but there will be a few days when we unplug and unwind at my grandparents’ house in the woods. Second only to comfortable and cozy duds, are different forms of entertainment that don’t require the internet.
