August List

August always seems to be the busiest month of summer. We try to pack as much sun-time fun into these last few weeks, and this year is no different. So many things on my mind this month, I didn’t know where to start! My August list…

To Do // I am pretty sure this is the third summer in a row that I haven’t made it to the beach (yet). I always end up at the beach in the off seasons, it’s time I enjoy the ocean (up past my ankles). This beach image from CR Fashion Book inspires me to hang on the beach, maybe even with friends, topless…a sure fire way to break the beachless summer streak. Want to join me?

To Prep //  This is the month before New York fashion week, which means a lot of decisions, scheduling and planning have to be done before all the festivities begin. This Margiela moleskin makes the planning part much more chic. Stay tuned this month for my fashion week prep secrets including how to plan your look for fashion week.

To Shop // We’ve been flirting with Fall temperatures here in New York, making me ponder which pieces will fill my 5 Piece French Wardrobe this season (and what will possibly fill this minimalist clothing rack I’ve had my eye on). Throughout August, Fall styles begin to fill the floors of our favorite shops, making the pieces we’ve ogled on the digital runway available to meet in person. It’s like a first date after viewing someone’s online profile.

To Wear // We are heading to Seattle and Portland for a much-needed vacay this month and apparently my boyfriend has plans for us to go hiking (!) But hiking is just walking in the woods right? I was instructed to bring proper footwear…. Do these hand-made, vegetable dyed leather sneakers by Feit count as proper hiking shoes? Maybe not, but a girl can dream. I will probably end up getting these sneakers to hit the hiking trails and keep the Feit sneaks for city strolling.
