This week is all about spending time in the kitchen with friends and family and making a meal together. While the company and food are the best part of this week, it doesn’t hurt to be in a well designed kitchen. This minimal kitchen designed by the architecture firm DRDH, is my dream. The fridge and oven are tucked away in clean white cabinets. High ceilings, natural light and uncluttered space offer an ideal place to make a large meal with friends and family. Subtle details make this space anything but stark: restored crown moldings, herringbone wood floors and three sets of floor-to-ceiling French doors. The tonal light fixtures that hang over the marble countertop don’t distract from the crisp backdrop of white walls. The architects drew inspiration from the sparsely furnished interior painting of Danish Artist Wilhelm Hammershoi (1864-1916). Visit their site to view the paintings referenced to design this apartment in Bryanston Square, Marylebone, London.
