I came across Rei Nadal’s artwork today and I immediately related to the androgynous nude figures wearing the most iconic sandals of the season. Her artwork would make a great addition to my slowly growing art collection, but I related to the idea that shoes tend to define a look and might be the only part of an outfit that really matters. As the sandal choices for this season continue to consume my daily thoughts, I turn to you for help! After buying and returning these sandals due to the overwhelming leather to skin-exposed ratio that simply wouldn’t do in the mid-August heat, I decided a simple slide might best suit my work from home, laid back lifestyle. While I’d love to own the Givenchy Chunky Buckle Sandal this season, my budget maxes out well below their retail price. Here are some of my favorite simple sandal choices for the season…
