My July design inspiration is fueled by the lines and curves of organic shapes. Shapes that might be found in nature, the way a leaf curls as it dries up, the curve of a woman\u2019s back when she undresses. The organic forms also speak to my design process: I rarely sketch my own designs, I often sit with my dress form and manipulate the muslin until it takes on a form that pleases me. A very organic process, rarely premeditated. My love of natural fibers is an extension of this organic process, as I choose to work almost exclusively in cotton, linen, silk and wool. The exception to this rule is when I work with reclaimed and vintage fabrics, which is a way to reduce waste.
